A Healing That Sparked Hope
At one school in Nigeria, a young girl named Patience* suffered from a recurring stomach ailment. The discomfort made daily life difficult and left her feeling discouraged. When fellow students and believers prayed over her, God responded with healing. Patience experienced a dramatic turnaround—her pain was gone. This personal encounter with God’s power stirred something deep within her.
Patience could not keep her story to herself. She shared her testimony with her parents, and her boldness became the seed for a multiplying movement.
Motivated by her own healing, Patience gathered friends and classmates to start a Discovery Bible Study (DBS). In these studies, participants read Scripture, ask questions, and immediately practice what they learn. Among those who attended was a young man named Adam*.
As Adam participated in the study, God’s Word began to shape his life. The stories of Jesus and the teachings of Scripture touched him so deeply that he could not remain silent. Inspired by Patience’s obedience, he started his own DBS group.
What made this especially significant was that one of his participants came from the Fulani community, a people group historically difficult to reach with the gospel.
This Fulani man’s heart was moved as he encountered God through Scripture. The gospel became more than words on a page—it became alive in him. Eager to share with his own community, he began a Discovery Bible Study with his Fulani friends.
It was in this group that another man, Sola*, experienced God’s Word in a powerful way.
Sola’s response was immediate and practical. Though limited by geography and circumstance, he refused to let those barriers stop him. He began hosting his own DBS sessions via phone calls, inviting others to join in listening, learning, and obeying Scripture together.
Through his creativity and persistence, Sola ensured that the chain of discipleship would continue even beyond his immediate circle.
The Chain Reaction of Multiplication
What began as one young girl’s healing has rippled outward through multiple lives and communities:
Patience’s testimony moved her family and led her to launch a DBS.
Adam was transformed and started his own group.
A Fulani man was touched and brought his friends into the movement.
Sola carried it forward by leading studies over the phone.
Each link in this chain represents not only personal transformation but also the multiplication of disciples who make disciples.

The Role of Faithful Mentorship
Our partners on the ground in Nigeria have been crucial in nurturing this growth. They faithfully visit, mentor, and encourage new believers, guiding them in obedience to Christ and supporting them as they lead others.
This careful balance of empowerment and accountability helps ensure that new disciples are not only growing in faith but also equipped to multiply.
A Movement of Young and Old
This story is a reminder that God uses disciples of every age. A schoolgirl, a young man, and leaders from the Fulani community—all play vital roles in a movement that continues to expand today.
What started with a simple prayer for healing has become a testimony of God’s power to multiply His Kingdom through ordinary people walking in obedience.
